It begins with a game. Cards on the table, a bottle opened, two people pretending it’s all just fun. But the rules of Uno have a strange way of echoing the rules we follow in love: skip, reverse, draw two. Keep it light. Keep it moving.

This painting captures that exact moment: when the game ends, but something else lingers. A meditation on love, timing, patterns, and all the small signs that tell us what we keep not hearing.

And yet, in all of that, there’s warmth. There’s humor. There’s the comfort of a familiar song, a loyal dog at your feet, and the quiet beauty of letting go with grace.
Because even when someone’s not the one, the evening can still be worth remembering.

Let this piece be a reminder of that: love, even when imperfect, still leaves behind light.
